I will do my absolute best to blog here for the rest of time and not have an emotional breakdown and delete it a year from now like I did with everything else.
In return, I hope everyone who says “I used to read your blog” will specify the blog title, so I know whether I should expect pictures of them bleeding from the face, talk to them about men’s gender issues, see if they identify as cis by default, or back away slowly because of how much they know about my sex life circa 2011.
Blog title is “Thing of Things”, thanks to a suggestion from a SSC commenter. Yes, it’s a reference to King of Kings from the Shelley poem. No, I didn’t actually name myself after that poem, y’all think I’m much more erudite than I actually am. I don’t even like the Romantics.
Real Posts will start tomorrow!
Yay! ❤

I am very happy that you have returned. I used to comment on your cis by default blog for a little while before you deleted it.

Hey! Welcome back. I was a fan of NSWATM, in several if it’s incarnations. I look forward to following you here.

Yay! I posted that “I used to read your blog” on the Slate Star Codex post announcing you were getting a new blog, and the blog I meant from that was NSWATM in its stand-alone format.
I sort of stopped reading regularly when it moved to GMP, mostly because the comments were more often junk, and partially because that website interface was obnoxious.
I lurked in that incarnation, but after you shut it down I kicked myself that I hadn’t provided external positive feedback commensurate with my internal gratitude for your posts, so I’ll try to do less lurking this time around. Try.

I’ve read all the blogs except the Tumblr ones, because I hate Tumblr, (Although I only caught the end of the sex life blog before you took it down – I seem to recall a guy you gave the pseudonym “Chip” to, and don’t remember much else.)

I used to read your blog, the one with the cis-by-default post. I think I found both this blog and the previous blog from the Alas! A Blog blogroll. Glad to see you’re blogging again.

I am new to your blogs, brought in by the “on consent as a felt sense” post. I really love reading what you have to say and how you say it, so – positive reinforcement! 🙂

Hooray! Your blog (in various incarnations) has always been one of my very favorites, and I’ve periodically checked for your return.

I used to read NSWATM avidly, pre-GMP, and even got to the point of being an active comment-making-person, etc. I still begin every attempt to explain my views on gender issues by vaguely referring people to the entirety of its archives, even though they haven’t been readily navigable for actual years now.
And I read your subsequent personal blog until it vanished off the internet, also.
It makes me very happy to have discovered via Slate Star Codex that you still exist and write words.
